March 9 – 15
“The LORD is on my side; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” (Psalm 118:6)
Sunday, 9th: Inmate Dorian C… wrote and requested Bible studies, and on February 4, 2025, his request was attended to. On March 5th, we received his second set of study worksheets and this letter: “I was reconciled with God when I came to jail last year. On December 19, 2024, I was sentenced to 13 years and a sex registry for the rest of my life. But my faith in God never left me. My appeal was submitted in January through constant prayers 3 times a day. Fast forward to Saturday February 22, 2025 – my attorney came to visit me and informed me that my appeal was approved. I thank God everyday for not letting go of me.” Praise God – “Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)! Pray Dorian starts each day in prayer and Bible reading; pray he shares the gospel and encourages others to sign up for studies.
Monday, 10th: WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEARN FROM GOD THROUGH THE STUDY OF HIS WORD? On March 3 at 9:32 AM, hopeful new student Shapiro S… emailed: “I recently received Christ as my Savior, and your studies were recommended. Candace W…, age 33, is my wife to be. We are at the same address. Can you send her a study too?” (First studies sent to both on 3/6/25.) Praise God – “I know, O LORD, that a man’s way is not his own; no one who walks directs his own steps.” (Jeremiah 10:23)! Pray Shapiro and Candace study God’s word and surrender their lives to Christ.
Tuesday, 11th: WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU HAVE LEARNED IN THIS STUDY? HAVE YOU RECEIVED CHRIST AS YOUR SAVIOR? IF SO, WHEN? Laura C… (age 79) wrote: “The reality of Jesus as the Son of God and Savior of my soul. Yes. When I was 10 years old, I opened the door of my heart to Jesus the Lord of my life.” Praise God – “If anyone confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.” (1 John 4:15)! Pray Laura shares the gospel with family, friends and neighbors; pray she signs up others to study.
Wednesday, 12th: WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU HAVE LEARNED IN THIS STUDY? HAVE YOU RECEIVED CHRIST AS YOUR SAVIOR? IF SO, WHEN? Joshua C… (age 32) wrote: “It was a good recap on knowledge. It helped me to remember some things I’d forgotten along the way. Our kids learned a lot more. Yes, I received the Lord Jesus as my Savior in 2015 and rededicated myself in 2024. My family has received Christ this year 2025.” Praise God – “They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household.”” (Acts 16:31)! Pray Joshua, his wife, his dad and four children keep studying and find a good church.
Thursday, 13th: WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU HAVE LEARNED IN THIS STUDY? HAVE YOU RECEIVED CHRIST AS YOUR SAVIOR? IF SO, WHEN? Inmate Irene Z… wrote: “We are saved by believing Jesus Christ is our Savior. Yes. Before in my brother’s church.” Praise God – “So too, faith by itself, if it does not result in action, is dead.” (James 2:17)! Pray Irene rereads her Bible study booklets and responds to God’s voice by repenting of her sin and truly believing the gospel.
Friday, 14th: WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEARN FROM GOD THROUGH THE STUDY OF HIS WORD? On March 3 at 12:34 AM, hopeful new student Hector G… emailed: “I want to learn how to be spiritually minded, obedient to Him, and able to share His word.” (First study sent on 3/6/25.) Praise God – “The mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace,” (Romans 8:6)! Pray Hector cuts ties with all things in his life running contrary to God’s word; pray he confesses it as sin.
Saturday, 15th: PRAYER REQUEST from Bible Studies by Mail, Inc.: B.S.B.M.’s Advisory Board is asking the LORD to provide younger leaders who are a bilingual couple, with ministry experience, who are willing to raise their personal financial support. They would work with current missionary leaders, Darryl and Joan Evans, and then eventually become missionaries with or seconded to Source of Light Ministries International. Praise God – “Now faith is the assurance of what we hope for and the certainty of what we do not see.” (Hebrews 11:1)! Pray B.S.B.M. hears of or from a missionary couple seeking mission work in North America.
