January 14 – 20
“Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. For our hearts rejoice in Him, since we trust in His holy name. May Your loving devotion rest on us, O LORD, as we put our hope in You.” Psalm 33:20-22
Sunday, 14th: “I am Adam G… and my cellmate is Manuel A… I was saved upon coming to ___ __ County Jail and I love the new journey I’m on. Anything you could provide would greatly be appreciated. Serving God is what I feel compelled to do. Thank you.” (Their first studies were mailed on 12/30/23.) Praise God – “For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that One died for all, therefore all died.” (2 Cor. 5:14)! Pray Adam and Manuel study together and share Christ’s teaching with fellow inmates.
Monday, 15th: WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEARN FROM GOD THROUGH THE STUDY OF HIS WORD? New student hopeful James E… e-mailed: “I want to learn history and facts, not personal opinion or personal beliefs.” (His first study was mailed on 01-09-24.) Praise God – “A fool does not delight in understanding, but only in airing his opinions.” (Prov. 18:2)! Pray James E studies his lessons diligently, verifies the truths taught & makes personal application w/o delay.
Tuesday, 16th: WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU HAVE LEARNED IN THIS LESSON? Inmate James P… (age 32) wrote: “How there is a spiritual battle and we have our own free will to choose Jehovah or Satan. Thank you BSBM for these studies that share this wonderful knowledge for all those who seek it.” Praise God – “Though each of the peoples may walk in the name of his god, yet we will walk in the name of the LORD our God forever and ever.” (Micah 4:5)! Pray James P reflects Jesus clearly to all others.
Wednesday, 17th: WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEARN FROM GOD THROUGH THE STUDY OF HIS WORD? New student hopeful Jaclyn K… e-mailed: “I hope to finally understand the Bible. I tried to read the old family Bible years ago and became frustrated and discouraged due to not understanding. Now I feel I’m ready and God is showing me. I am overwhelmed after researching the Bible and what to follow. I am a newbie, after 46 years, and I am fighting cancer. God has given me the push! My heart belongs to Him.” (Study sent 1/8/24.) Praise God – “For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” (Matt. 16:25)! Pray Jaclyn studies her lessons with her Bible; pray she finds a Bible-teaching church.
Thursday, 18th: WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU HAVE LEARNED IN THIS LESSON? Inmate Steve A… (age 63) wrote: “There is nothing enjoyable about being chastened by God, but if we accept it in the right way, it will yield precious fruit in our lives. I thank you for the lessons, tracts and words of encouragement.” Praise God – “Blessed is the man You discipline, O LORD, and teach from Your law,” (Psalm 94:12)! Pray Steve encourages fellow inmates to study with him and to sign up for Bible correspondence courses.
Friday, 19th: WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU HAVE LEARNED IN THIS STUDY? HAVE YOU RECEIVED CHRIST AS YOUR SAVIOR? IF SO, WHEN? Inmate Angelica G… (age 34) wrote: “I need to really repent. Jesus told us He’d be with us and that being a Christian wouldn’t be easy. Yes. Today, 12/7/23.” Praise God – “I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take courage; I have overcome the world!” (Jn. 16:33)! Pray Angelica remains faithful.
Saturday, 20th: “Hello, my name is Michael C… I’m writing you today to get you to agree with me and pray something that I’m believing God will do for me. I need a breakthrough in my social security disability case, so that I may receive my monthly benefits and then be able to buy the supplies and take care of my three daughters that God has blessed me with.” Praise God – “If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.” (Psalm 66:18)! Pray Michael seeks purity of heart as he studies, attends a Bible-teaching church & shares his prayer request.
