September 15 – 21

“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can make your stand against the devil’s schemes.” Ephesians 6:11

Sunday, 15th: PRAYER ALERT from Bible Studies by Mail, Inc.: B.S.B.M.’s Advisory Board is asking the LORD to provide new leaders who are a bilingual couple with ministry experience and their own financial support base. They would work with current leaders, Darryl and Joan Evans, and then eventually become missionaries with or seconded to Source of Light Ministries International. Praise God – “Now faith is the assurance of what we hope for and the certainty of what we do not see.” (Hebrews 11:1)! Pray B.S.B.M. hears of or from a missionary couple seeking mission work in North America.

Monday, 16th: WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU HAVE LEARNED IN THIS STUDY? HAVE YOU RECEIVED CHRIST AS YOUR SAVIOR? IF SO, WHEN? Madison W… (age 24) wrote: “That the only way to the Father is through the Son, by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. And that just because you are a believer, life won’t be easy. We must turn to God for strength. Yes, 10 months ago, in December 2023, while I was in jail.” (She found BSBM’s website and requested Bible studies on 8/28/2024.) Praise God – “For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved.” (Romans 10:10)! Pray Madison has found a Bible-teaching church to attend and a godly mentor.

Tuesday, 17th: Inmate Luis C… (age 49) returned his study Test Pages and asked: “Could you enroll my daughters Nevaeh and Aleethea C… in these studies? They are over 18-years-old and would enjoy them. They live at …Dr …New Mexico.” (Their first studies were mailed on 9/13/2024.) Praise God – “Fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath; instead, bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” (Ephesians 6:4)! Pray Luis, Nevaeh & Aleethea study the Bible and keep in touch.

Wednesday, 18th: Inmate Aishia P… (age 29) recently requested prayer: “I am having serious medical issues that’s causing numerous hospitalizations, blood transfusions, etc. I’m very stressed out, depressed, and honestly angry. God, His word and my dad are the only ones who keep me strong with my head up. I am supposed to have surgery, but who knows when??? My release date is October 10th, and I just want to go home to my dad. Please pray for me.” (Extra biblical material was sent to help her deal with anger and depression.) Praise God – “And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in You.” (Psalm 39:7)! Pray Aishia keeps her focus on Christ day by day; pray she shares the gospel among fellow inmates and helps them sign up.

Thursday, 19th: WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU HAVE LEARNED IN THIS STUDY? Keishla R… (age 32) shared: “Reading these studies is a new journey for me. This has definitely helped me understand that for us as new Christians there is a way of defeating the wicked. This morning, I woke my oldest for school and went back to my room to pull out Ephesians 6:11-18 to start praying. I am blessed to have my Bible studies show me things that I may not understand or know yet from the Bible. Thank you for all you do!” (She did study #1 in January 2023. She wrote that she had received Christ as her Savior while doing the study.) Praise God – “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.” (Ephesians 6:10)! Pray Keishla keeps studying her Bible and our Bible courses; pray she starts a home Bible study with her acquaintances.

Friday, 20th: “Dear spiritual leader, my mailing address has changed to …St …Texas. I am still at the same facility. Thank you for all the Bible study lessons. I love and enjoy each and every one. Thanks, Mark D…” Praise God – “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul longs after You, O God.” (Psalm 42:1)! Pray Mark gets his next studies w/o mail handling hiccups; pray he reflects Christ’s life brightly in jail.

Saturday, 21st: Elliot P… (age 15) found BSBM’s website and requested Bible studies on 8/7/2024. He recently completed Lesson 6, and he wrote this: “I wonder if you guys could give me some guidance. I want to find a local church to attend. How do I find a good one? I am not sure of the denomination and what they believe. My parents won’t take me.” (He got a church’s phone number and address, 4 miles from his house.) Praise God – “My soul longs, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.” (Psalm 84:2)! Pray Elliot makes contact with the church and gets a ride to attend services.
